Nelson Symphony Orchestra: Travel Plans

EventFinda-SoloSpotlight
Come fly with the Nelson Symphony Orchestra! Travel Plans features music by German, French, Russian, American, and of course, notable New Zealand composers.
Guest conductor Beth Cohen joins the orchestra In longing for light at the end of the tunnel, and the illicit pleasure of a glimpse abroad. We journey from the heart of the continent with Mozart’s “Magic Flute” to the vitality of Spain and Rodrigo’s Concierto d’Aranjuez, with guitarist Owen Moriarty. Fauré provides a French perspective on the Greek myth of Pelléas et Mélisande, Copland evokes the serenity of a spring in the Appalachian mountains, Prokofiev brings the Montagues and the Capulets to the Baltics before Anthony Ritchie brings us back home with an Albatross in Flight.
